We have listed here a number of Frequently Asked Questions and answers to help you in all procedures regarding pre-registration and registration on Universitaly.
How many applications can I make on Universitaly?
For each academic year, it is possible to make only one pre-registration request on the Universitaly portal. Furthermore, it is not possible to make other pre-registration requests in other Italian universities, because the Long-Stay visa application (type D) for Study depends on acceptance in one university.
Should I register first on Universitaly or on Esse3 (UPO Student Portal)?
All students who are not normally residents of Italy and who have non-European citizenship must register first on Universitaly. Once the pre-evaluation has been made and the VISA issued, it is then possible to register on Esse3.
4. Which documents do I need to upload to Universitaly for pre-registration?
You must upload the following documents to Universitaly:
A valid passport
Recent passport photograph
Entrance qualification (High School diploma for Bachelor’s degrees, and Bachelor’s Degree certificate for Master’s degrees)
Translation and legalisation of entrance qualification
Certification of language skills for the language of delivery of chosen degree programme (at least B2 level)
Declaration of Value (certifying your student transcript/certification; this can also be presented to Student Secretariat at a later date)
Letter of acceptance onto course (only for Master’s/second cycle courses).
In addition to these documents, remember that to enroll in a first cycle degree course in Italy it is necessary to have at least 12 years of schooling
How can I obtain a pre-evaluation of my qualifications?
For students intending to access a Bachelor’s degree course, the procedure is managed directly by Universitaly, therefore no additional preliminary steps are required.
For Master’s degree courses, it is possible to request a pre-evaluation following the procedures described on the University website.
For example:
Pre-evaluation for admission to Master’s degree in Food, Health and Environment (ENG curriculum): send the documentation to fhemasterdegree@uniupo.it;
6. How long must I wait for the procedure to be complete on Universitaly?
There is no single answer, it depends on the number of applications received and the particular circumstances of your situation. We will give priority to students applying for courses with restricted admission numbers.
7. How can I change my personal details in my pre-registration application on Universitaly?
If you realise that you have made some mistakes when filling out the personal data sheet on Universitaly, you must request any modifications via "Support" on the website, attaching a copy of your passport to your request email.
How do I obtain a language skills certificate of level B2?
If you cannot independently acquire a B2 level certificate of knowledge of the language in which the course of study you are interested is taught, you can do the online tests that the University of Eastern Piedmont periodically prepares. For further information, consult the University website.
Is there an admission fee for pre-registration and assessment of qualifications?
No. The Università del Piemonte Orientale does not charge additional fees for qualification evaluation.
Who should I contact for more information?
For any doubts about procedure, you can send an email to international.students@uniupo.it. No answers will be provided to questions already published on this web page.
