For some degree courses, there may be a limited number of places. Two types of courses are concerned:
- National-regulated courses: to enrol on these courses, candidates must pass an admissions test. The number of available places, procedure and content of the tests, as well as assessment criteria, are imposed directly by Miur (Ministry of Education, Universities and Research). In UPO, these degree courses are:
- Medicine and Surgery
- Healthcare Professions (Nursing, Professional Education, Physiotherapy, Dental Hygiene, Biomedical Laboratory Science, Medical Radiology for imaging and radiotherapy)
- Local-regulated courses: the University has set a maximum number of students per course. Registration procedures are announced through specific notices, and deadlines may different from those of unrestricted admission courses. In UPO, these include:
