Admissions

For some degree courses, there may be a limited number of places. Three types of courses are concerned:

  • State-regulated courses: to enrol on these courses, candidates must pass an admissions test. The number of available places, procedure and content of the tests, as well as assessment criteria, are imposed directly by Miur (Ministry of Education, Industry and Research). In UPO, these degree courses are:
    • Medicine and Surgery
    • Healthcare Professions (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental Hygiene, Biomedical Laboratory Science, Medical Radiology for imaging and radiotherapy)
  • Institutionally-regulated courses: to enrol on these courses, candidates must pass an admissions test. The number of places, content and test dates are decided independently by the university itself. In UPO, these courses are:
    • Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Master’s degree)
  • Capped number courses: no admissions test is required to enrol on these courses. However, the University has set a maximum number of students per course. Registration procedures are announced through specific notices, and deadlines may differ from those of unrestricted admission courses. In UPO, these include:
    • Biotechnology
    • Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology
    • Pharmacy

Details of each type of course are provided in the side-menu.
