ANVUR (National Agency for Evaluation of Universities and Research) has launched a new Evaluation of Research Quality survey for the period 2015-2019.
The initiative is designed to evaluate scientific research outcomes and third mission activity for the period 2015-2019, as carried out by universities, research organisations under the supervision of MIUR, and other public/private entities who perform research.
To participate in the process in the correct manner, please read the ANVUR Call as well as the guidelines provided by the University and Useful Documents published here. All information will be sent via email from the Research Department.
The evaluation commission takes into account only those research studies published for the first time in the 2015-2019 period by researchers (fixed term or open-ended), associate and full professors, with valid contracts at 1 November 2019.
Research content which may be evaluated includes:
- Scientific monologues and related items
- Magazine/journal articles
- Book chapters or sections
- Conference proceedings contributions
- Other types of academic output (only if furnished with official proof of author identity and date of production). Items included for evaluation of Third Mission activity may not be submitted.
- Patents granted in the five-year period of the ERQ (from 1/1/2015 to 31/12/2019). Items included for evaluation of Third Mission activity may not be submitted.
Restrictions and specific details of the above categories are listed in art. 5 of the Call. Each GEV (evaluation commission) may, according to the features of its research field, specify in more detail or restrict the types of outputs admitted for evaluation.
Procedures and regulations for submission of research outputs are listed in art. 6 of the Call.
The MIUR decree no. 1110 of 29/11/2019 issued the Linee guida per la valutazione della qualità della ricerca (VQR) (Guidelines for ERQ) 2015-2019, integrated with the following decree no.444 of 11/8/2020.
The ANVUR decree no. 1 of 3/01/2020 released the relevant Call.

In the 2015-2019 ‘VQR’ section of the ANVUR website (in the pages reserved to individual GEVs), lists of the evaluation commission members are published with documentation on the method of evaluation of research items as laid down by the commissions.
