The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) is Italy’s response to the pandemic crisis and obstances which prevented growth of the economic, social and environmental systems.

The PNRR is part of the European recovery project Next Generation EU (NGEU), a programme of unique ambition and importance, with a number of resources introduced for the relaunch of growth, investments and reforms.

On 13 July 2021, the European Council approved the PNRR, which contains 16 Components, grouped in 6 Missions:

  • Mission 1: Digitalisation, innovation, competitiveness, culture and tourism
  • Mission 2: Green Revolution and ecological transition
  • Mission 3: Infrastructures for sustainabile mobility
  • Mission 4: Education and research
  • Mission 5: Cohesion and inclusion
  • Mission 6: Health

The University, with research funding, is involved in numerous projects within Missions 4 and 6.
