The course of FHE is designed to prepare graduate students with a solid competence in biology, pathophysiology and chemistry in the field of food and health with a focus on the evaluation of environmental and human health risks associated with food production. 

The course also aims to provide students with a solid knowledge in basic biological disciplines aimed at a deeper understanding of the physiological and pathological processes related to nutrition at the molecular, cellular and systemic level. The course also aims to provide students with some non-biological skills that will play an important role in the professional development.

In order to be admitted to this course, students need to have a laurea diploma in L-13 class from UPO or any other Italian university; students with a diploma in different laurea classes or a different international degree will be admitted only after the competent commission will have ascertained the curricula requirements.
