The “Apprendistato di Alta Formazione (AAF)” establishes the interaction between enterprices and university: it allows young people to enter the world of work and, at the same time, to obtain a university degree and higher education, including Ph.D.

The apprenticeship is a permanent employment contract intended to young people up to 29 years of age, aimed at the training and young employment that combines work with a training course carried out partly on the job and partly in the classroom. The apprentice is followed by a company tutor and a training tutor from the University, who collaborate in the preparation of the Individual Training Plan.

In UPO it is possible to activate paths for the achievement of the Bachelor's and Master's Degree, 1st and 2nd level Masters, PhD in Apprenticeship. It is also possible for those who have ended the academic paths to be hired as an apprenticeship by a company to carry out research activities.
