UPO is a signatory of the Manifesto for an Inclusive University, promoted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Its main aim is to help refugees gain access to a university education and research opportunities, promoting social integration and active participation in academic life. By signing the Manifesto, UPO is supporting the creation of the “third mission”, promoting the enhancement and use of knowledge in the pursuit of social, cultural and economic development of society.

At the moment, UPO is working wholeheartedly on the project “Education corridors for Syrian students”.
