The University of Turin, the Polytechnic of Turin, the University of Piemonte Orientale and the University of Gastronomic Sciences share a deep concern about the dramatic conflict in Ukraine. The four universities are part of the Universities for Peace Network and express their strongest condemnation of the use of violence and war.

The Universities join in the appeal of the United Nations Secretary General of 23 February 2022 on respect for the principles of the United Nations Charter, the need to establish a ceasefire and to embark on the path of dialogue and negotiation. The Universities of Piedmont look to all the people and institutions dramatically affected in these hours and deeply share their grief.

"We hope," they jointly emphasise, "that this conflict can be brought to an end as soon as possible and we are working to transform our concern into concrete action. We are taking steps to offer hospitality to colleagues affected by the conflict and to allow them to work in a safe environment, and we are working to support students affected by the war in the same way."
