We learn with dismay that the Iranian judiciary has reportedly concluded its investigative process and definitively confirmed the death sentence of former UPO researcher Ahmadreza Djalali.

The University of Eastern Piedmont reiterates its total opposition to such a measure that infringes on the most basic universal human right, that of life and self-determination.

Rector Gian Carlo Avanzi says, "As we have done in the past, we will send an official communication to the Iranian government to review this decision, which we consider inhumane and unacceptable. We will once again explore all diplomatic paths."
