The management of trade union relations includes all processes that regulate relations between the University and Trade Unions (TUs) and Italian Unitary Workplace Representatives (Rappresentanze Sindacali Unitarie, henceforth RSUs) as regards integrative negotiation, application of the National Labour Collective Agreement (henceforth NLCA) and the Complementary Agreement (henceforth CA).

The public party delegation consists of the Rector (or proxy) and Director-General; the delegation of the trade union sector is composed of the RSUs and representatives of trade union organisations that are signatories of the National Labour Agreement.

Currently, the following trade unions are recognised to negotiate:

  • F.L.C. C.G.I.L
  • Federazione CISL- School, University, Research
  • U.S.B. – General Trade Union

Negotiation between the delegations is in the interests of employees in order to improve their employment conditions, professional development opportunities and incentives systems, all of which serve to improve quality levels, efficiency and efficacy of institutional activity and services.

According to the current National Labour Collective Agreement, the following models are adopted:

  • negotiation
  • information
  • cooperation
  • consultation

Support activity by the Administration:

  • Management of relations with trade unions, acting as intermediary for the public body delegation
  • Management of information flow to trade unions and precise communication of trade union agreements to interested parties
  • Secretarial role in negotiation (scheduling of meetings, minutes, provision of documents) to assist the Rector and Director-General
