The Rector is assisted in his role by a deputy, the Pro-rector, chosen from among the full professors. He/she substitutes the Rector in the event of absence or temporary impediment, and the role ends when the rector’s mandate is finished.

The current Pro-rector is Professor Roberto Barbato, professor of Plant Physiology and member of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation.
